Lateral
Track storage uses sections of shelving mounted on tracks
in front of sections of stationary or fixed shelving in order to reduce the
amount of floor space needed to access files or other materials. The
shelving (nearly any type can be used) can be two, three, or even four sections
deep. All sections, except the rear stationary or fixed sections, slide
left to right along the track in order to allow access to the sections behind
them.
It is a
manual, lateral movement mobile storage system designed for high activity,
high-access, medium-density storage applications.
The
best manufacturers of this type of storage include Kardex, Russ Bassett, and Datum.
As with all systems from
Reynolds complete design, installation, training, and
on-going local service and support are all included.

Kardex Lateral Movable Shelving allows you to
place two or three rows of shelving front to back without wasting expensive
floor space on access aisles. Simply move the front row of shelving
effortlessly from side to side for easy access to the back row.

Datum's lateral track is called TrakSlider™
Have budget constraints? Start with a couple of
Datum's stationary shelves and as your filing requirements increase, simply add
some track and movable shelves to create a BiSlider. As more filing is required,
add another row of track and shelves to create a TriSlider™. Finally, to realize
full maximum space savings, add one more row of track to create a QuadSlider.
The Datum TrakSlider™ can be up to 4 rows deep (QuadSlider)
but the width of the shelving system is limited only by your imagination. Who
uses the Datum TrakSlider™? Medical practices, law firms, commercial printers,
automotive facilities and many others.
Features:
-
Modular track allows
for easy expansion of stationary shelving to a
BiSlider (two sections deep), a BiSlider to a
TriSlider, and a TriSlider to a QuadSlider. Track can also be expanded laterally to increase
storage capacity.
